The class:
Students will explore the art of portraiture through painting directly from a model in a series of long and short poses.  We will focus on the observation of tones, relative values, shapes, color, and color temperature.  The approach is general to specific, organizing the values to create a sense of light and form.  We will also pay attention to drawing, brushwork, and edges.  Drawing experience highly recommended.  Some experience with oils useful.
