This blog is a repository of information on workshops, classes, exhibitions and, generally, anything art-related that the Portrait Society Ambassadors want to share. Generally, they are posted here because they are NOT ENDORSED NOR PROMOTED by the Portrait Society of America, but they are worthwhile to the interest and development of interested artists. Each ambassador contributes input from their area so that all may be informed and/or participate.

Grumbacher paint is looking to hire accomplished acrylic painters to teach two hours workshops at a major retailer. We have developed a flexible curriculum in acrylics for an artist to use or to adapt it to fit the artist's style. Compensation is $100/workshop. We plan to conduct approximately one to four workshops per store per month and the artist will have flexibility in their scheduling. The workshops will be geographically located all over the U.S and Canada. All teaching materials will be provided to the artist at no cost
If you or anyone you know may be interested, please email Jen Kopec at jkopec@chartpak.com with examples of your work in acrylics, along with a resume and contact information. I am teaching portrait sculpture workshops at Cottonwood Center for the Arts http://cottonwoodcenterforthearts.com/ in Colorado Springs now and have taken a studio there. If you have ever considered a studio in a group setting, I can highly recommend Cottonwood. Just FYI, Cottonwood relocated about a year ago and the new building is great. Exciting news here in the E. Idaho Region. The Idaho Falls Historic Downtown Foundation is seeking artists to design, fabricate and deliver "sculptural seating" for the Idaho Falls Snake River Greenbelt. The Snake River Greenbelt is one of Idaho Falls top attractions. Additional public seating, especially when combined with public art, would further enhance its appeal. It is our goal to create an aesthetically pleasing yet functional public art seating project which can be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. Please take a moment to look over the Request for Proposals and Application attachments you'll find with this email and forward them on to the artists in your communities and regions.
If you have any questions feel free to contact the Project Director, Carrie Scheid at cscheid@q.com.
Thanks so much!
